Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lighting Design Assistant to serve as a key collaborator in all phases of the lighting design process. This is a “right-hand” role where you will bridge the gap between creative concepts and technical execution. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in lighting principles and is highly proficient in drafting, documentation, and visual storytelling.

Experience & Requirements

Ideally 1–3 years of professional experience in lighting design, interior design, or architecture. We are looking for someone who understands the “language” of lighting and can hit the ground running with drafting.

Location: Fully Remote

Schedule: Graveyard shift, California Time Zone (Pacific Time)

Key Responsibilities

Transform design concepts into precise lighting plans using AutoCAD.

Create and maintain detailed fixture schedules and specifications in Excel.

Assemble high-end client presentations and mood boards using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Act as a central point of contact for project technical data, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Required Qualifications

A solid understanding of lighting design fundamentals (color temperature, lumens, fixture types, etc.).

Mastery of AutoCAD for 2D drafting and Microsoft Excel for data management.

Professional-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop).

The ability to juggle multiple project components and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

While not strictly required, experience in the following 3D and calculation software is a significant plus:

SketchUp or Rhino.

ElumTools or AGI32.

Basic Revit knowledge.

Compensation & Contract

Competitive potential part-time rate of $550 per month.

Hiring Process

Successful candidates will undergo an interview process, followed by comprehensive training on Agapeh Lighting’s specific processes and tools to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
